The Team:
The Copy Desk is responsible for copy editing news stories and research analysis across multiple sectors, including global financials and energy. Our priorities are accuracy, consistency, efficiency and teamwork. Our team members operate well under deadline pressure and are seen as valuable resources for others in the newsroom.

The Impact:
The Copy Desk provides value to S&P Global Market Intelligence by ensuring our news meets high standards for accuracy, clarity and relevance. Clients often rely on Market Intelligence news and research to make decisions or set priorities for their day, and they need information quickly.

Responsibilities:
  • Copy editing stories for style, grammar, factual consistency and clarity.
  • Proofing graphic elements.
  • Developing industry knowledge.
  • Providing feedback regarding edits.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the globe.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree required .
  • Superior English-language skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexibility in working with workflow management systems and learning new technology.
  • Interest in copy editing and journalism as a career path.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in journalism or proofreading.
  • Experience with AP style.
  • Good research skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
