Summary

The Philadelphia Inquirer is seeking an Assistant Managing Editor to lead newsroom operations in support of The Inquirer’s journalism, digital transformation, and audience diversification and development goals.  This position will directly report to the Managing Editor and will be a key member of the newsroom and organizational leadership team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead administrative and process improvements in newsroom operations to advance our digital transformation, enhance our
  journalism and support our journalists

• Recommend and develop best practices for newsroom workflows, policies and processes and provide guidance and
  leadership to editorial team 

• Coordinate external content partnerships and manage newsroom vendor relationships

• Develop and supervise departmental budget and expenses 

• Lead newsroom collaboration with the Lenfest Institute, and with company divisions such as People & Culture, Finance and
  Systems

• Support development of editorial strategy, and ensure newsroom operations are in sync with strategic goals

• Manage an administrative team that supports newsroom operations
