Leads graphic design for the Corporate Communications department, in support of the system and all of its departments and subsidiaries. Works with project leads to obtain information and objectives to develop design concepts for each project. |
Works with Director of Corporate Communications and senior leadership to define key messages and visuals to support effective internal and external communication. |
Possesses a high degree of creativity and the ability to work independently to develop original design concepts. |
Responsible for the design, layout and specifications for all printed and graphic materials for Corporate Communications. |
Responsible for selecting all aspects of the print and digital projects: photographs, illustrations, size, colors, ink, type, paper, positioning of print and art, printing technique, etc. within budget. |
Assists with message creation and content editing. |
Proofreads work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. |
Checks printer's proofs before final printing, makes changes as needed. |
Presents all design concepts to Director of Corporate Communications for approval before proceeding with printing or ordering. |
Oversees Corporate Communications design projects and schedules deadlines; ensures all printed/graphic projects meet deadlines. |
Completes work according to department and system standards. |
Maintains confidentiality. |
Works with the Marketing Department as appropriate to ensure compliance with corporate brand standards for external communications. |
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively within the department and work with others to accomplish system goals, objectives and strategies. |
Demonstrates the ability to simplify complex information and present data in a visually compelling manner. |
Knowledge of layout and design principles normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in design, graphic design or related field. |
Must possess excellent communication and project management skills along with the ability to work under constant deadlines. |
Demonstrates a working knowledge of print production and a thorough working knowledge of preparing documents for printing. |
Possesses excellent design skills with a strong attention to detail, quality, and proofreading with a degree of creativity. |
Demonstrates working knowledge of software packages for graphic design, including Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office. |
Stays current with changes, developments, new technologies in the graphic arts field through continuing education and professional journals and societies. |
Demonstrates the ability to operate office machines such as copiers, fax, printers, computers, and scanners. |
