This position is responsible for a variety of editorial tasks producing specific segments with program hosts, writing for digital platforms in support of the production of WBUR programs. The Associate Producer writes stories for local newscasts, monitors various sources to gather news, conducts interviews by phone and in-person to generate news stories for broadcast, and produces newscasts. The Associate Producer is responsible for producing and overseeing the use of a production studio for recording, researching and arranging program elements while providing editorial and technical support to the Executive Producer. The Associate Producer records and edits audio for broadcast, and collaborates with a team to both directly produce content and assist others as they produce content for on-air and digital platforms. The Associate Producer works closely with hosts in production of on-air segments, including preparation of editorial debriefs and shaping materials for interviews including written introductions. The Associate Producer may also be responsible for elements of content for digital platforms including links, multi-media and narrative. The Associate Producer pitches daily news stories and issues for potential segments, and coverage in newscasts.
Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least three years of related work experience required.
