The News Innovation Lab is part of the newly built News Product, Publishing, and Technology unit within Core Product. The group will be responsible for the strategy and all aspects of News and content innovation including journalistic tools, technology underpinning Editorial & Research, content discovery and distribution, and all News applications and products. The Core Product business consists of the teams managing the Terminal, Vault and Index.
What's the Role? We are looking for an experienced, driven product analyst with a journalistic background to accelerate the understanding and development of data analysis that supports the fluid news agenda. The right candidate will have experience in journalism and in Bloomberg's BQNT environment. This person will own a portfolio of automated story projects and drive them to completion. We are striving for a self-starter who excels at multitasking and is able to switch context without skipping a beat to support the analysis, execution and management of projects for the News Innovation Lab.
We'll trust you to:
Take ownership and coordinate a portfolio of projects within the News Innovation Lab
Liaise regularly with the Newsroom, Engineering, Data and other key stakeholders and drive projects to completion
Quickly iterate on new insights and multi-task across simultaneous projects
Design, develop, and deploy data quality validations to drive quality improvements
Maintain a culture of urgency, innovation, and strong news judgement
You'll need to have:
3+ years of financial journalism and/or market research/analysis experience*
Experience using python, BQNT (Bloomberg's coding interface), BQL, Excel
Proven experience with content creation, including the analysis of data and large datasets
Demonstrated project management experience
Experience working with engineering teams
We'd love to see:
Prior experience with news judgement, ahead-of-the-curve thinking skills on what comes next in a given cycle
Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
Strong organizational capabilities
Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders
Ability to work independently, solve problems and deal with ambiguity
A demonstrated ability to break down silos and communicate across teams, groups, platforms and regions

Salary Range: 110,000 - 225,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
