The Graphic Designer is the in-house “creative” of the Association, creating and designing visual content across various communications assets including print and online, to support creative strategies to meet the business goals for each department. This includes laying out a quarterly magazine, designing digital newsletters, website design and redesign, and creating all marketing materials related to Association events, education, advocacy, products & services, membership recruitment, and retention campaigns.
Coordinates and collaborates with all applicable staff to supply content for creative strategies for all departments, programs, initiatives, and products. This includes education, membership, special events, advocacy, community outreach, etc.
Designs and lays out the quarterly magazine.
Creates video content and graphics to support digital communications efforts.
Develops other event-related elements including banners and signage.
Designs the website for improved functionality; suggests and implements regular improvements for better user experience.
Maintains the website with up-to-date content to support the Association’s programs and products.
Creates graphics and elements to support the social media strategy across platforms.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned and as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Association (assisting with all fundraisers/meetings of the Association).

Experience & Skills Required and Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, marketing, journalism, or related field is required.
1-2 years of experience in print layout and graphic design experience is required.
Portfolio must be submitted with resume to apply.
Expert level knowledge of design programs and the Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is required.
Excellent creativity is required. Ability to design from scratch and create graphics that are attention-grabbing and on-brand.
Expert level knowledge of social media platforms is required.
Effective time-management skills are required; including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Intermediate-level knowledge of web design platforms such as WordPress or other content management platforms is required.
Animation or video editing skills are required.
Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to communicate with individuals at many different levels as well as extensive knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, are required.
Collaborative and strong interpersonal skills are required. Creative, outgoing while being tactful, flexible, professional.
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
