The Graphic Designer will manage a high volume of graphic design work with a primary focus on supporting the creative needs across all areas of the Marketing Strategy and Fan Experience external team, including development, marketing, ticketing, media relations, broadcasting partment&#8217;s digital platforms, including social media, email, website and mobile; assist with the creative vision for department-wide branding efforts and coordinate design concept art for brand campaigns. The Graphic Designer will assist with creative support and design materials for fundraising campaigns and capital projects; collaborate with external team to lead photo shoots (execution and direction), photo selection, and photo management. The Graphic Designer will coordinate and implement design best practice tools, templates, and technologies to drive effectiveness and efficiency across the organization; establish a graphic design internship program (including intern recruitment, retention and oversight); assist with special projects, including the enhancement of environmental mediums within the Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) athletic facilities; coordinate high level presentation design materials in support of revenue generation initiatives and organizational communication; and to perform other duties as assigned, including providing support at select athletic events.

 Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services, the Assistant Director of Creative Services (or Graphic Designer) will work closely with the external units to design digital assets that promote the Tulane University Athletic programs. The Graphic Designer will execute final concepts determined by collaborating with various departments. Daily projects will include designing content for social media platforms, in-house video board content, the official Tulane Athletics website, team posters, emails, brochures and all other marketing, strategic communication and creative collateral needed.

The successful candidate will elevate the Tulane athletic brand by creating compelling graphic designs that promote and highlight all the athletic programs and overall department.

The successful candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, a good communicator and possess the ability to handle numerous projects in a timely manner with the flexibility to adjust to unscheduled developments involving immediate attention. Must possess the knowledge of various graphic design tools and technology, while adapting to new technologies as appropriate. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  1. Work closely with the external units of the Tulane University Athletic Department to produce all content and design layouts for all advertising, marketing &#38; strategic communications collateral. Design content and create templates for infographics, social media content, season ticket booklets, informational brochures, official Tulane Athletics website content (TulaneGreenWave.com), videoboard content, among other design needs within the department.  What we&#8217;re looking for:&#xa0; The&#xa0; Meteorologist/ Digital Journalist  role is responsible for forecasting, writing articles, and creating video features about Maine weather for Spectrum News digital platforms. In addition, this person will also be responsible for producing environmental stories about Maine, including, but not limited to, articles and videos about the outdoor life and activities in Maine. The goal is to create impactful and compelling content for users throughout Maine. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 Produce written, video, photo, graphic, and audio weather content to provide context and understanding of Maine weather patterns and impacts on app users&#8217; lifestyle. 
 Prepare and deliver daily forecast articles for digital platforms. 
 Gather and accurately interpret meteorological information. 
 Work within design programs like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, WSI graphics, and Infographic programs to produce high quality digital visuals to accompany content. 
 Operate Adobe CQ5 and Experience Manager content management system for publication of stories. 
 Rely on knowledge of HTML, CSS, web scripting and FTP to drive efficiencies. 
 Collaborate with the national digital weather team to produce compelling local weather coverage that is in alignment with the digital weather strategy. 
 Adeptly cover live severe weather coverage under extremely dynamic high pressure situations. 
 Support coverage of significant weather events, including working extra hours and days outside of normally scheduled shifts. 
 Research, pitch, enterprise, write, capture quality visual content, edit news stories and produce creative, original and compelling own stories for multiple platforms. 
 Organize material, determine angle or emphasis and write stories accordingly. 
 Combine video, audio and graphics to tell the story effectively. 
 Must attain and maintain professional appearance determined by department head. 
 Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
 Qualifications: Skills/Abilities and Knowledge 
 
 Ability to read, write, speak and understand English 
 Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical, and radar meteorology 
 Ability to disseminate complex meteorological information in a usable and understandable manner 
 Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate within Spectrum Networks 
 Ability to work effectively within a team environment and interact with all personnel within the organization 
 Strong story development skillsand ability to edit stories is necessary 
 Requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving 
 Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English 
 Attention to detail 
 Ability to work rapidly and accurately 
 Knowledge of HTML and broad-based computer applications is strongly preferred
