WBUR News is looking for an ambitious, creative and collaborative leader to oversee the newsroom's broadcast and audio journalism. The role oversees all of WBUR's local programming: Morning Edition, Radio Boston, All Things Considered and Weekend Edition. The Managing Producer will work with Executive Producers on the vision and editorial strategy for each show in order to refine and elevate each show's unique identity in the newsroom. They will foster collaborative and supportive environments where a diverse set of hosts, producers, writers and technical staff can do their best work, experiment and grow. We are looking for someone who is motivated and inspired by the opportunities of audio journalism, and who can coach other audio journalists on executing their audio dreams. Someone who is deeply knowledgeable about the current audio landscape and who is excited about the future of audio news in broadcast and on demand spaces. The Managing Producer will uphold a standard of editorial excellence and shape a diversity of news and programming, including agenda-setting reporting, transporting narratives, and revelatory interviews. The Managing Producer will partner with senior local newsroom leaders to help define and execute the overall local coverage goals across all places WBUR conducts journalism -- including wbur.org, social, newsletters, events, and on demand audio -- to grow and uphold the audiences WBUR aspires to serve.
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience required.
At least eight years of related work experience required.
